Monty Mahan has lived in Kitsap County since 1960. He is a 1996 graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, and a 2000 graduate of the Evergreen State College with his Masters degree in Public Administration.

He has served on many local and regional boards and commissions, including the Kitsap County Planning Commission, the Kitsap Conservation District, the Puget Sound Task Force, the Cascade Agenda Coalition, and ForeverGreen of Pierce County.

Monty currently serve as Executive Director of the Pierce Conservation District, where he works closely with the Pierce County Council and Executive, the City Councils of Tacoma, University Place, Lakewood and Puyallup, and legislators and congresspeople throughout the Puget Sound region.

Sandy and Monty Mahan reside near Manchester with their nine children, ages 9 – 13.
