Dear Citizens of Kitsap County,

It's an honor to have the opportunity to run for Commissioner of Kitsap County. I look forward to this experience; it will provide me with the satisfaction of returning something to a community that has given so much to me throughout my life.

Most of my life has been dedicated to public service.  I learned as a child of a County Commissioner the importance of County government to the people it serves.  I served in the US Army as a Tank Commander, and worked with special education and behaviorally disordered children in the Bremerton and Central Kitsap School Districts.  I invested ten years into Kitsap County Public Works, and most recently have served seven years as Executive Director of the Pierce Conservation District.  My time on the Kitsap Planning Commission was a great education in dealing with complex issues that affect our communities daily. 

Kitsap is to me, without question, the best County in the state of Washington.  We face some of the biggest challenges Kitsap has ever seen.  As the son of a county commissioner I know the hard work and dedication required to affect positive change.  It is time for Kitsap County to reclaim its investment in me by putting my experience and knowledge to work for the people of this great county.

I am confident in my ability to work with commissioners Josh Brown and Steve Bauer.  I have spent a great deal of time in the community and can work with community leaders, including mayors Cary Bozeman of Bremerton and Lary Coppola of Port Orchard, both of whom have endorsed my candidacy. As a representative of county government I've sat in people's living rooms, kitchens, walked their yards, and worked with them to ensure their issues were heard and dealt with in a fair way.  I've got thirty years experience walking the halls of County government and I know how to make it work for you.

If elected I promise that I will execute my duties as County Commissioner in a balanced and professional manner, focusing on the interests and needs of my constituency -- the citizens of Kitsap County -- You!
